No doubt many of you pervs (not that I’m casting aspersions) are quite familiar with Seduction Cinema and their line of soft-core titles. I, however, am not. I’d heard of the lovely Ms. Misty Mundae, SC’s reigning diva of carnal delight, but had only ever seen her once before, in director Lucky McKee’s SICK GIRL episode of Showtime’s generally disappointing MASTERS OF HORROR series, where, billed under the moniker Erin Brown ("Misty Mundae" is not her real name — I know you’re shocked), she got naked and made out with Angela Bettis (star of McKee’s MAY). The show also gave her the opportunity to recite lines with her clothes on, and act and portray a character, which she proved she was fairly capable of doing.

But what of SIN SISTERS? Well, first off, as soft-core goes, it sure beats the "skinemax" programming you see on the cable movie channels, partly because SS actually boasts a plot of sorts, and a rather intriguing one at that. But in the interest of giving the viewers what they’re drooling for before making any attempt at getting a story going, the flick is frontloaded with a lot of nudity.

We begin with Misty and real-life half-sister Chelsea (playing Misty’s full-sister in the film) lounging at poolside, sensually rubbing lotion on themselves, and finally competing for the attention of a passing pool boy by getting naked and masturbating in front of him. This sequence goes on for about 12 minutes, but, somehow, never seems too long!

Here I should pause for a moment to discuss the physical attributes of the Mundae sisters. Crass, I know. But let’s face it, the copious amounts of female flesh on display are the whole raison d’etre for this type of movie. Are these girls hot, you ask? Well, if you’re into the perfect 10, breast-enhanced, Pamela Anderson/Carmen Electra playboy playmate type, you might not think so. Misty is very pretty, but she also has small, natural breasts and is a tiny bit on the big-boned side. Chelsea isn’t as pretty and is more than slightly big-boned. For me personally, erotica featuring girls who are attractive girl-next-door types is more erotic than erotica featuring girls who are so unbelievably perfect as to seem unreal. You may disagree. If so, I doubt you care how intriguing the plot of this movie is or even whether it has a plot at all, and you’d probably be better off with those Skinemax flicks which DO feature Pamela Anderson/Carmen Electra types but put me to sleep. Anyway. . .

The next scene begins the story — for a few minutes, at least. Misty and Chelsea (they have character names, but I don’t remember what they were, and I’m not going to look them up, because "character" ain’t the point here) are working out at their college gym. Misty is mean and verbally abusive to the meek and soft-spoken Chelsea. Soon, Misty calls it a workout and heads for the showers. Apparently oblivious to the fact that anyone could walk in at any time, the insatiable Misty soaps down and is soon pleasuring herself once again. Chelsea peeks in and sees an opportunity to get even with nasty sis, somehow pulling out a video camera from somewhere, and plugging it into a feed that leads to monitors in the dean’s office. The dean’s assistant (Andrea Davis) upon seeing the naughty broadcast, immediately runs down to the showers to confront Misty, who is apparently a rival of some sort, telling her she’s totally expelled fer SHURE this time you bitch, ha ha. Then Misty blows her top and slams Andrea into the wall, apparently killing her. (For the record, this was about the least convincing murder I’ve ever seen in a movie, not that it matters.)

At this point, Misty yells at Chelsea to help her dispose of the body, so the girls throw Andrea into the trunk of their car (on a public street, in broad daylight, no less) and drive off.

But of course things don’t go as planned, and the sisters end up held hostage by a sadistic lesbian (Julian Wells, BITE ME!, SPIDERBABE) who forces them into various sex-related competitions ("Whichever one of you comes first loses!") at gunpoint. It all culminates in a mildly entertaining twist ending, as well as a novel use for a severed penis. Remember that pool boy? Yowch!

SIN SISTERS is consistently diverting. You do find yourself wondering where the story is headed while watching, which is surprising for the sexploitation genre, where you usually don’t notice a story at all. The movie was shot in anamorphic DV, and the image is impeccably sharp. Extras include an interview with the Mundae sisters and a "making of" featurette.
